Looking Forward To A Fun Weekend!

Tomorrow I head back north to the lake.
Last week I was busy getting Kate's bedroom ready for the girls.
The girls come every year to celebrate Independence Day with us.
July 4th weekend is a big deal in these mountains and the girls at ages 7 (almost 8), 6 and 2 1/2 are really looking forward to the parade and fireworks.

And Mr. Flea and I are really looking forward
to having little ones in the house again!

...of course, Emma, Kate and Delia won't be the only ones visiting...
their Mom and Dad will be here too...
...and Dan is coming with three of his close friends!
The more the merrier!

So, I am looking forward to the long holiday weekend.
But there is lots to do this week before the fun begins.
Booth set-up is Thursday!

Hope your week is productive and that you
are looking forward to a fun weekend too!

Summer Fades...

Saturday was a beautiful day up here in the mountains...
but that was just one nice day in a whole week of overcast, drizzly, windy and cold days...

The forecast is for more rain and cold temperatures...
...so it looks like we will be heading south in a few days to warmer climates...
...even if that just means downstate a few hours!

Summer fades...
...but hopefully autumn will appear with bright sunny days to make the beautiful colors of the foliage sparkle and shine.
When that happens we will be back to see these mountains in all their colorful glory!

I hope the week ahead brings good things and fun times with family and friends.

Honey Bear

I was making up the bed in Kate's old room here at the lake house this morning as my inlaws will be arriving this week...
There are many charming children's antiques and girly things in this room...
...it is where our three sweet sisters stay when they visit.

Last spring I found this antique doll and then in the summer I found the little old dress that fits her just perfectly ...

...a bit short but she has cute knees...

These three friends were excited as Mr. Flea brought up a package that I had received from Margaret at The French Bear this week. I won her fabulous give-away a few weeks ago.

Let me introduce...

Isn't she darling?
Thank you Margaret for this beautifully made bear and thank you to your granddaughter for pulling my name out of the hat!

Honey Bear is quite happy in her new home with her new friends.

I don't know if it is as hot where you are as it is here on the East coast right now...
...but if it is...
...think cool thoughts!
...or, as I am considering...
go jump in the lake!

:)

If you are so inclined...we are grateful for a few extra prayers tonight as my Mom has her first chemo treatment tomorrow...
Thank you!
