White Pansies, Zinc and Flea Finds

Our Easter weekend was a bit different this year as many family members were out of town....but it was still wonderful....full of bright sunshine, flea markets, special friends with sweet little girls, new friends and a delicious Easter dinner...
... and some down time just for relaxation too.

I was able to spend a morning at the flea market and found some fun things that I wanted to share with you...
...first this little poultry feeder....the perfect size for a few white pansies...

I loved the color on this flowered enamel plate...
...the chips don't bother me a bit!
...Now, those initials...LDC
...could they say....Laura Doesn't Clean?
...no, no...that can't be right...
Laura's Dreams Cometh?
...moving on...

I found seven of these blue and white flowered enamel plates...

a handful of crystals and two tarnished mother of pearl knives...

...two little old tins and a wonderful, tiny wicker covered bottle... c 1900

...and some rusty finials...
...There was lots more...I will save a few pics for a later post...

I've also been rooting around in the cellar and digging up some old zinc items, watering cans, tin things, etc, etc.

White pansies look pretty with everything!

I hope that you are having some warm spring sunshine where you are...
or for my friends on the other side of the world...perhaps at least sunny skies!
...and I hope your week ahead brings all good things!

A Few Favorite Whites

A favorite old white ironstone gravy boat....crazed and with just the right amount of brown...
...(you may have to click on the image to get the full effect!)

An old mourning picture made with seeds...

This celluloid mirror belonged to my great grandmother, Laura Webster Abbott...

A sweet little purse...

Some chippy white paint balusters...

Mother of pearl and sterling teething ring, rattle and baby spoon along with the dish that belonged to my father as a child...

Perhaps I have posted a few of these before....they are some of my favorite whites...so many different shades and textures...
