book worm

Over Christmas my book collection grew (which I always love) however my space for these books has sadly grown sparse. However, I don't that would be a problem if I had these lovely book storage solutions.

Mountain Retreat

The weekend promises to bring sunshine and good times.
Dan's law school friends are packing their cases and coming for a visit to the lake house.

My sister and family will be here too...
...the more the merrier!

This afternoon I sat and relaxed with a book on the deck for a little while...
...sort of the calm before the storm!

...and then late this afternoon Dan took me for a ride in the boat...

I never get tired of looking at our beautiful lake and the mountains beyond...
...and catching glimpses of the cottages and cabins, camps and mountain retreats that surround the area.

...this weekend he will take his friends skiing and tubing...

...but for now...for me...it was a slow and calm, sightseeing tour of the lake.

I hope your weekend brings what you are looking for...
...either lots of fun with family and friends...or lots of relaxation and peace...

...maybe a bit of both!
:)

eye candy {contemporary country}

This past weekend I decided it was finally time to get a library card and see what the local library had stocked in the interior design section. I was thoroughly impressed and came home with many lovely hardbacks but was most impressed with Contemporary Country--especially these lovely masterfully mixed style dining areas on its pages.

Are you a fan of this cozy yet sophisticated style?

Rainy Day Treasure

There was more to be found in addition to the cigar box treasures at this rainy weekend sale...

I love this pair of opera glasses...bought for a fraction of their value...

Always attracted to these Cornishware bowls...I had to bring them home with me...

Great books at only fifty cents a piece...

I was happy to find some gardening titles for my collection...

Two old brass keys, a pair of change purses and a black Victorian bow...

A bit of pretty blue bling... earrings for 25 cents...

Another bargain book which is as interesting on the inside as the cover appears...

Crochet hooks and thread in brilliant blues and green...

Despite the rain...it was a successful treasure hunting weekend...
I was able to find some bargains, catch up and visit with my girlfriend and bring home a few goodies to add to my collections and art supplies...
Thanks for coming along!
:) Laura
