One of my co-workers is vacationing to Italy next week and to say that I am jealous is an understatement. All of her talk about the amazing food and plans they have are most certainly making me want to jump right inside the book Italian Rustic.

The creations of elsa peretti are the epitome of organic and simple design. So it comes as no surprise that her retreat outside of Barcelona embodies those qualities as well. I am completely drawn to the cozy sensibility. Hmm...wonder if she would rent it to me for the off season.

This past weekend I decided it was finally time to get a library card and see what the local library had stocked in the interior design section. I was thoroughly impressed and came home with many lovely hardbacks but was most impressed with Contemporary Country--especially these lovely masterfully mixed style dining areas on its pages.

There is something so romantic about an event in an old barn that smells of hay or in a wide open field. Sepia and cream create lovely backdrop for an event in such a setting.
