grand {magical} entrance
It is said that "you can't judge a book by its cover" but I ask can you judge a home by it's grand entrance? All I know is that this magical Moroccan inspired entry definitely has me wanting to cross the threshold.

a warming glow
It is yet again a very chilly morning and I just cant seem to warm up no matter how many layers I wear or how high I crank the heat, which is probably why I am drawn to the warming glow in these lovely spaces.

soft glow of spring
Spring is almost here--the snow is melting and daffodils are now for sale in the store! I am honestly not quite ready for the ski season to be over but am very much looking forward to longer days which means rooms bathed in soft warm light...

home tour {my kind of modern}
My personal design aesthetic does not tend to be on the modern end of the spectrum but I do love the recently completed project of Jessica Helgerson. This home of a young family in Portland is warm, clean, full of creative touches and preserves many of the traditional architectural elements.
I have never seen a mirrored mural before and love the way it looks in this front hall--especially on the ceiling.
It is furnished in classic, modern and contemporary styles adding a warmth to the design.
This subtle wallpaper creates the perfect backdrop for a soothing bedroom retreat.
And I always love Jessica's kitchens and dining rooms and the ones in this home are no exception! What fun light fixtures she choose.
Hope you love this house as much as I do! You can see more of this home right here.
