[luxurious] fall basics

As I sit here curled up in favorite cashmere sweater I am reminded about how fall and winter styles really are all about luxury. It is the time of year to indulge in cozy fabrics, ornately detailed pieces and fabulous fabrics. These are a few of my favorite picks for luxurious and practical pieces for the coming cold weather season.

I mean a girl has to have a fabulous coat to curl up in during sleigh rides, a versatile skirt that can go from day to night, a go to holiday party dress, statement clutch that everyone asks about, an apres ski sweater for us mountain town gals and of course fabulous shoes!

I was clearing out all my bookmarked web pages that I didn't need anymore (there was probably 300!) and noticed quite the trend in the most recent ones. Almost every single apparel and home item that I had saved contained one fabulous fall color, a lovely brick red. I thought they were the perfect items (some of which are under $250!) to share with you on the first official day of fall!

What if I told you that there was a fall line that contained the perfect colors, patterns, formal wear, basics, the perfect date ensemble and one for the farmers market. Sounds pretty unrealistic, right? Well that is if you haven't seen the fabulous fall collection from Lauren Moffatt.

autumn neutral {amber}

Although it may feel like fall here in Jackson Hole I am definitely not ready for the leaves to change. However, in preparation I thought I would add one one more color (yes, another jewel tone) to my list of favorite fall colors--this week it is luxurious, sophisticated and elegant amber.

indigo+taupe

So I have another color to add to list of ones I look forward to sporting this fall--indigo. Especially after seeing the beautiful and moody vibe it added to this room and how lovely it pairs with taupe.

fall forecast {aubergine}

Ok, so if you follow me on twitter you may know that I am not ready to see all the fall clothes in the stores and online boutiques. However, it was quite chilly last night and it allowed me to give in to the allure of all the velvet and suede. So, I decided to at least look and immediately noticed that one color seemed to be all over---deep aubergine.

Such a moody and dramatic color is perfect for chilly fall evenings.
