Winding Down

It was a beautiful day here at the lake!
Picked a handful of daisies and buttercups...

Had lots of hot coffee...

...and some fine feathered company.

Continued sprucing up the place...getting ready for friends and family...
Took some time to relax, read and enjoy the sunshine...
... and to take a few pictures...
...pretty scented homemade soaps and vintage clothespins in old and worn green enamel pans.

I loved my few days alone at the lake...
...and will be happy to see Mr. Flea and Starla this weekend!

I hope you have plans for a good weekend too!

Winning Numbers!

Numbers are appearing on everything!
I picked up these two sweet smelling soaps from the sale section of Anthropologie...

...one is scented aloe and eucalyptus and the other is coconut!

...and the packaging is fabulous...don't you think?

So...who had the lucky number?
Who has won the 400th Post Give-Back?

Well, first of all I want to thank ALL of you ...
...for your kind words and for sharing your thoughts and collections with me...

You are all winners in my book! I hate to disappoint anyone ... especially those of you who are always so kind and generous with your comments....but alas...for this Give-Back there can only be one winner....
...Thanks so much for playing along...

The randomly selected winner of 52 Flea's 400th Post Give-Back is ...

Jamie V from Remnants

Jamie wrote....

Congrats on 400 posts! I really enjoy reading your blog. Such inspiration! I try to limit my collecting - so difficult to do sometimes. I like vintage lace and fabric, sewing notions, dolls, ephemera, photographs and garden implements! Jamie V in MT

Congratulations Jamie!

I will put together a package that I think you will like ....
...and will include a little something from the French brocante picked out by The Brocantess!
By the way...she is still stuck in France with no flight home!

And the person who first guessed that it was The Brocantess, who I will be joining forces with to hold a sale later on this spring is....

Sherry from No Minimalist Here

Congratulations Sherry!

Sherry gets a little trinket straight from the French brocante for her guess!

However...having said that...
you will both have to wait until The Brocantess is able to return to the states....
...she just may have to come back in a container with all her French treasures!

I thank each of you again for participating...
...and for visiting my little corner of the world!

Have a great Tuesday!

Welcome Home!

I had a good flight back today and was met and warmly welcomed at the airport by Mr. Flea...(it seems he missed me!)
...and then welcomed again by some sweet purple crocus in our garden when we arrived home...

Even the first of the daffodils bloomed in the spring sunshine!

The sweet surprises didn't stop there...

A package had arrived from Mira of Belle Blanc ....
... this beautiful handmade linen heart was waiting for me...
click to enlarge and read this special poem by EE Cummings...

...also included were some of Mira's lovely soaps, a packet of Baby Boo pumpkin seeds and a copy of the collage she made of all the entries in her favorite cup contest giveaway...

How very lucky I am that Mira loved my cup as much as I do!

Thank you dear Mira....your beautiful heart will be cherished for years to come!
Your generosity and the time spent on all the details and presentation of your gifts is deeply appreciated.

I had a wonderful time with my family in Florida but it was good to be home again too...
...and I cannot forget our little Starla who welcomed me home with kitty kisses....

But ... I am not home for long!
I am repacking and getting ready to leave tomorrow morning for Montreal, Canada!
We are off to visit McGill University and to meet Ms. Zita from Mlle Magpie!

Let's see what we can find in Montreal to show you!
Stay tuned...

Be well!

Sand Colors and Cookies

It was a quiet day...cold and crisp with lots of sunshine.
We visited dear family friends to celebrate a 93rd birthday!
I didn't get Kate's room cleaned out as planned nor all the laundry done...
...but spent an hour outside in the fresh air...
... it felt really, really good...

I am so ready for spring...
...dreaming of the sand and sea...
...hope your Saturday was sunny too!

What are you dreaming of this weekend?

Still time to get in on the 52 Flea 1st Anniversary Give-Back!
