I never think of purple as being a statement color but in just the smallest touches deep rich plums really pack a punch. Even if just a simple accent bowl or stripe on the floor...
I have found myself using citrus more than ever these days in my cooking. Lemon and lime are the perfect seasonal flavor. Their color adds the same fresh touch to a home or ensemble as the flavor does a dish. (via celerie kemble, anson smart, nicole farhi, and madeline stuart)
As I have said before, I love the combination of warm and cool colors. It is a foolproof way to create a cozy space. This is especially true when done with neutrals, like these rusty red and pewter grays.

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. I had a near perfect one--skiing, mimosas, walks by the river, catching up with friends and yoga. All of these activities were much more enjoyable due to fact that it was a bluebird sky weekend. It is not surprising that same shade of blue in the home can instantly calm and lift spirits.
Ok, yes it is after labor day but no matter what time of the year white is always in style. I think that I actually put more white pieces in to my closet than I took out when I did the seasonal wardrobe switch. So with snow in the weather forecast for the rest of the week I thought it would be appropriate to have a little ode to winter white!
There are those colors that I come back to time and time again--that no matter what the season, occasion, my mood or the room that I always love. Aqua just makes me swoon (I am not sure I used that word before I started blogging!) and I can't imagine that it is one I will ever grow tired of.
It was downright summery here all weekend. So I was completely not prepared for it to be the last weekend of the farmers market, for football to perpetually be on TV and to be cutting up leaves when mowing the lawn. However I am ready to add a touch of warm fall color to my home (and wardrobe) with neutral and natural slate and copper accents.

*Also tomorrow is the last day to hop on over to delight by design sponsor, Padgett Hoke's, blog and enter the giveaway for one of her lovely creations!
Wow, it seems like overnight the leaves have drastically started to change colors and a down comforter has become needed at night. I have to say I love the cool breezes that come with fall almost as much as a love adding breezy soft blues to a home. (via nuevo estilo, katie ridder and anson smart)
There are some colors that only need to be used in the smallest amounts to make a statement and raspberry is definitely one of them. It is such a glamorous, bold and energizing color. Perhaps that is why lipsticks in this color are so popular! (via elle interior, olga naiman, kate powers, nuevo estilo, mikkel vang, prue roscoe and amanda nisbet) Hope you all had a wonderful and relaxing weekend!
Every single time that I think I have nailed down my favorite color combination another lovely one catches my eye and today it is warm sienna paired with rich navy blue. (via Plush Palette from W Magazine, Digs by Katie, and 100 Layer Cake)
