still loving {burnt orange + powder blue}

Your taste in interior design may evolve but there are always going to be those elements you always come back to. For me, that mostly relates to color palettes. I have always loved complementary color combinations and none as much as burnt orange and powder blue--especially when softened with a floral motif...

silver + mandarin

Sexy is not a word I use often, at least in terms of a color combination but I can't help but use it when describing the look of silver and mandarin together.

And how could you not feel sexy in those sandals!?

color pops {rust}

I think using complementary colors in a home is great way to make a statement and rust orange and blue has long been my favorite. I also happen to love the statement that rusts makes on its own as well which is why I was draw to the sparing use of it in this home.
Any how fun is that leaning door?

color crush {indigo and peach}

I fell in love with this dress from Thread Social a few weeks ago not only for its whimsical style but the amazing color combination. The peach with the deep indigo is so soft and feminine. Then when I saw this room earlier today, I realized that as with most color combinations in fashion that they work equally as well in interiors.

back to basics {black and gold}

I love finding new color combinations that inspire me but sometimes the classics really are the best, and black and gold will forever be my favorite for invoking timeless elegance.

pretty in pink {and taupe}

Wow, what a busy week! I am so looking forward to a peaceful weekend but before it starts I just wanted to pop in with a little interior eye candy. The taupe and pink combination is just divine in this home and I can't help but let out a sigh when I look at these images.

refreshing palette

Kelly green is a favorite of many designers as it packs a fresh bold punch to any room. I love the way the small shots of this vibrant color are the allowed to be the star of these rooms. The white, black and wood tones are the perfect background to give kelly that extra punch.

pretty in primary

The most basic color combination really can be the best. Lately, I have been reminded that a simple primary color combination is truly one of my favorites. In case you need to be convinced...

color crush {lemon + lime}

I have found myself using citrus more than ever these days in my cooking. Lemon and lime are the perfect seasonal flavor. Their color adds the same fresh touch to a home or ensemble as the flavor does a dish.

color crush {rust + pewter}

As I have said before, I love the combination of warm and cool colors. It is a foolproof way to create a cozy space. This is especially true when done with neutrals, like these rusty red and pewter grays.

just for fun {teal + chartreuse}

You are probably thinking really, teal and chartreuse? Yes, really! I have to admit I had to study this space a few times before I was sold on it. I think that it works well here because there is so much going on to distract the eye from the daring color and is pulled together so well in the accessories, especially the area rug and beaded chandelier.

I could however do without some of the clutter!

sweet serenity {slate+taupe}

The juxtaposition of warm and cool colors is so appealing to me and the perfect way to create a soothing, unpretentious and inviting space. The ideal palette to come home to after a hectic Monday.

lovely opposites {warm and cool}

This has felt like a very long week and these images filled with soft cool tones and dreamy warm shades are a welcome relief. There is just such a rejuvenating effect to this seemingly opposite and subtle combination.

evening eye candy {valentine's palette}

I cannot believe that Valentine's day is this weekend and I haven't even had a confection heart yet. I just love the soft pinks and reds of the holiday especially when mixed with cool silver blue hues.

color inspiration {scarlet+turquoise}

I always love finding new color combinations and when I saw this editorial shot in the February Harper's Bazaar I knew I found a new one--scarlet, pink and turquoise! It is fresh, sophisticated and flirty.

holiday palette {mist+bronze}

I know that blue has become somewhat of a classic Christmas color but I never had given too much consideration to it for my personal decor. I always thought it was too cold. Then I saw a misty blue paired with bronze and decided it was going to be the palette for my decor this year. It is the perfect combination for the casual warmth I was searching for this season.

inspiring sugar rush

Committing to a color palette is difficult, as there is always the unknown of how the colors will work together. Which is why I always love seeing color combinations somewhere else first, especially somewhere unexpected. My newest favorite source for this variety of inspiration is confections.

(via domino and sweet and saucy shop)
It is how I learned that I loved the combination of slate, cream and hunter green as well as well as taupe, gold, leaf green and deep royal purple.

prada {purse} inspired palettes

I have quite the affinity for prada purses and hence have worn my fair share into the ground. My love grew even more for this luxury brand when I saw these lovelies in there 2010 resort collection. Starting with this stunning combination of brilliant orange and cobalt.

Perfect, right? The colors are just stunning and also translate beautifully into a bold and inviting interior palette.

( via unkown)
And then there was the perfect crisp black and white handbags with the perfect little touch of gold.

Which also is lovely color scheme when applied to an interior, especially when it is an entry way like this one...

(room by celerie kemble)
Lastly, love the combination of the slate and yellow of this one against the salmon dress.
Which of course, like the others, looks amazing when applied to an interior...case and point:
