May Day

Today is May Day!
...a very special day in our family
as Kate was born on May 1st...

The prettiest time of the year for a birthday!

All my favorite blossoms were in bloom in our yard
when I brought my sweet baby girl home.

She's one of a kind!
My Mom called Kate...her golden girl.
A beautiful girl...making her way in this world.
We are very proud of her.

I found this picture of Kate when she was about 4...
playing "pirate princess" with her big brother.
It captures her determined spirit!

Starla is really Kate's cat...
...although she remains at home with Mr. Flea and me
as Kate's life in Manhattan is a bit too much for her.
Starla is saying...
Happy Birthday Kate...come home and visit me!

Our lilacs have bloomed today...
just as they did 25 years ago...
...the day Katharine Grace was born.

My Mother's deep purple double French lilacs,
My grandmother's lavender lilacs and
 Mr. Flea's grandmother's white lilacs.

Happy Birthday Kate!
Happy May Day!

Still Floating

I am still floating after Will and Kate's beautiful fairytale wedding.
Sigh...

Even Mr. Flea indulged me and got up early to watch the spectacular event.

With my head in the clouds of romantic thoughts and the beautiful spring blossoms that are pulling me outside...

...well, let's just say...
...my mind isn't in the right place to be
cleaning up and organizing my messy home today.

There must be a flea market somewhere!

Have a great Saturday!

Almost!

A few more days and our lilacs will be spectacular!

Our Japanese cherry tree will be in full bloom
with hundreds of soft pink petals...

...and the white and pink dogwoods lining the driveway
 will be glorious!

Almost!

Don't you just love this time of year?

Forget me nots...
...found at the flea market yesterday!

...also found...
...more pretty floral plates, doilies and fabric...

...the blossoms on the Japanese cherry tree are ready to pop...

...another day or two and the lilacs will be in bloom...

... bleeding hearts on the stone wall...

Trying to nurse my sore back so I can get on with the big clean out!
Details on the 400 post Give Back still to come...
More flea market finds to show too...

Hope you are enjoying the spring weather!
