inspired style {cool + feminine}

I have looked to Gwyneth Paltrow as a style icon since she graced the red carpet in that stunning pink Ralph Lauren dress. So I was thrilled to see her on the cover of the current vogue and ate up the whole article and the editorial photos of her. This one was my favorite, as she is in her own clothes and it speaks so well to the cool but feminine style she always exudes.

It is those same qualities that make me crazy about this room. It is classic but with a twist that I don't think I would ever get bored of.

Is there a style icon that influences your interior style?

color pops {rich plum}

There is something about the color purple that is lately drawing me in. It just such a regal and rich color that I definitely would like more of in my life. It is also a color that is supposed to boost imagination and creativity--which is never a bad thing! And as with most bold colors, a little goes a long way...

designer crush {madeline stuart}

How is that it was only until just recently that I discovered the work of Madeline Stuart? When I saw the Jackson Hole home she designed in the latest Elle Decor I was instantly in love, as she found the perfect balance between the rustic and natural elements associated with rocky mountain living and the elegant refinement I crave. When I pursued her portfolio I was not disappointed and was especially in love with this home:

It is livable and laid back while also being luxurious! She also happens to feature the work of one of my favorite artists (over the mantle), Ashley Collins. Yes, I truly have a new designer crush.

perfect [rustic chic] style

When I hear the word rustic in relation to interior design I think cozy but I also tend to think dark and heavy as well. However, that is not necessarily always the case--rustic can also be bright and light when white is added to soften the natural elements or by using lighter toned wood.

And the chill in the air is definitley leaving me wishing I had just that type of cozy space to warm up in.

I just think there is something about cooking a pot of chili in a rustic (and chic!) kitchen that is much more appealing than in a contemporary or modern one.

And the being immersed in the warmth of rustic style's natural elements would make it so much easier to bear to dropping temperatures (and snow!)

How would you define rustic?

perfect fall [interior inspired] pieces

I don't think it is any secret that I love the way interiors can inspire fashion and vis versa. When I saw this colorful corner of a bedroom designed by chloe warner I knew that it was the perfect inspiration for fall's key fashion pieces.

The perfect mix of color and styles. A signature bold colored dress, a statement clutch, a classic carry all bag--all topped of with fabulous belt and neutral pair of shoes that will both carry over to the spring season and all those after.

I am also now craving bold colored bedside nesting tables!

pale blue + hint of sparkle

With crystal, just like gold, a little goes a long way to add glamour to a room. Having a crystal light fixture does not necessarily mean that the tone of the room has to be opulent, stuffy or formal. This is especially the case when the fixtures are unexpected shapes, unconventionally placed and paired with a casual color backdrop.

current style {relaxed elegance}

I am so often asked what my favorite style is and the truth is that it is ever changing and this summer it is absolutely relaxed elegance--for both the home and the closet. I think that this outdoor space perfectly defines this style--just love the multi color wood flooring, crisp white curtain panels and the touches of copper.

And I thought that this white linen dress, copper toned earrings, amber hued cuff and a simple bone clutch would create the perfect outfit to enjoy this breezy outdoor space.

And this lovely indoor space is a close second place for what I imagine relaxed elegance translating too, the subdued colors and slouchy pillows are just so incredibly inviting.

Of course I couldn't leave this space without a matching ensemble and I think that this effortlessly chic dress, beautifully embellished scarf paired with a simple bracelet and sparkly sandals would do wonderfully.

Do you change your favorite style as much as me? Hope you all had a wonderful weekend and happy Monday.
